Charles Dennis, CEO Southern Independent Publishers

NEWS and sport coverage from Wollongong's northern suburbs will continue be delivered free to your door every week by your local Northern Leader team despite recent rumours within the community that the newspaper was about to close its doors.

In fact, the Northern Leader newspaper is going from strength to strength - with a new team on board and a brand new look which will be unveiled to our readers from next week.

Southern Independent Publishers CEO, Charles Dennis said the Northern Leader has never been in a stronger position in terms of its ability to provide an accurate and informative news service to the local community it serves in Wollongong's northern suburbs.

"The Northern Leader has been around for many years and we'll be around for many more," said Mr Dennis.

"The rumours that we are closing couldn't be further from the truth."

"We are committed to providing a high-quality local newspaper to the people of the northern suburbs of Wollongong, who have in turn supported us over the years as their local newspaper."

Southern Independent Publishers' stable of South Coast newspapers includes the Northern Leader, Lake Times in Shellharbour which is circulated to more than 50,000 residents each week and the 147-year-old Kiama Independent.
