Woonona helps out students

THE Woonona Surf Club has received a grant from the NRMA to run a bronze medallion in school sport program at Woonona Public School.
The program is currently underway and is being run by sport teacher and Thirroul SLSC member Rod Landy. It is the first of its type in the region and has been well received by students and teachers at the school.
In other Woonona Surf Club news their 2006 presentation night was a huge success with standing room only. In the future the club intends to develop various activities for their rooky members to support them in their goals and make their time as productive as possible.
The club has been growing consistently over recent years with patrol numbers the highest they have been for many seasons. Also the junior numbers are up 50 percent in the last 12 months with the change to pointscores every other week proving popular with parents and children.
