Using Ocean Calendar

The Ocean Calendar® is the only calendar in Australia that shows tides and daylight hours to scale. The white boxes represent daylight. They start with sunrise and end with sunset. So each white rectangle is a snapshot of a day at the beach or on the ocean. This allows anglers to find tide changes around sunrise or sunset. Exact high and low tide times are printed under the peaks and troughs of the shaded wave. Times are pre-adjusted for daylight savings. Exact tide heights are indicated by grid lines spaced at half metre intervals. It is easy to calculate the exact predicted height by referring to these grid lines. Tide heights are, however, affected considerably by local weather conditions. Big swells, on shore winds and low-pressure systems all increase tide heights and vice versa. Tide data comes from the Manly Hydraulics Laboratory and is accurate for ocean beaches from Mallacoota in Victoria to Tweed Heads, give or take a few minutes. Delays for local inlets and bays are printed below. Inquiries may be directed to info@oceancalendars.com.au or visit the website at www.oceancalendars.com.au for more ocean and tide knowledge. 2007 calendars are available for sale on 1800 999 970.
