When Andrea Pohl says she has felt the trauma of someone who has had people close to them suffer hart attacks she’s not kidding.

The restaurant owner has had to watch her husband and brother fall prey to the dreaded heart attack recently, and says she will never forget the effect it had on her family.

“The lasting experience was one I would not wish on anyone,” she said.

“It left a lasting mark on my children and is something our whole family will never forget.”

As an act of gratitude to the Heart Foundation’s support of her family, Ms Pohl will be hosting a fundraiser at her Wollongong restaurant, 46 on Crown on Thursday, July 16.

“Without the Heart Foundation research my husband would not have fulfilled life with his family today and this is our way to thank them for that,” she said.

The night will have a casino theme with a live performance by comedian and illusionist Glen Keeley.

Anyone wishing to buy tickets for the event or to donate prizes can contact Ms Pohl on 0422 486 127.

Tickets will cost $95 each and will be sold from the restaurant or by calling Ms Pohl.

Attendees will be able to buy roulette chips and play the wheel to win great prizes, all for a good cause.

The Heart Foundation is on a mission to reduce suffering and death from heart, stroke and blood vessel disease in Australia, through support, promoting prevention and raising awareness.
