IT wasn't all plain sailing for the Illawarra Stingrays in the Women's State League Soccer Competition on Sunday.
Playing at home against Sutherland, from the five games played, the Stingrays came up with two draws and three losses.
The Opens played a tough and sometimes very physical 0 0 draw, with the opposition goalie producing a blinder. Despite the one point, the girls hold on to 5th place in this strong 16 team league. The club's talented U12 side also played out a 1 1 draw to maintain their second spot on the ladder. However the U14s lost 5 0, the U16s 1 0 and the U21s 4 0.
Overall the club has retained it's 8th ranking on the championship table.
