THE NORTHERN Districts Tigers had a fortunate turn in the weather on Saturday as Figtree oval was closed and most of the semi-finals were moved to their home ground, Hollymount Park.
The under 9s kicked off the day but went down to the Swans by two points in a thriller.
The 10s played Wollongong Lions and did it tough for most of the game.
This game brought out the best in Mitchell Osadczuk and Callington Wearne.
With a powerful final quarter, the Tigers managed to score a 8-6-54 win against 6-5-41.
Under 11s “ran aground” against Kiama with the Power managing to contain the Tigers.
The Tigers lifted their intensity and even with Lucy Bergmeier and Haydn Savill putting in “finals efforts” they were not good enough against the Power, losing by 11.
The Tigers now have to win the preliminary final next week to keep their hopes alive.
Grey Roos and Tigers tussled for the 12s mantle and with Will Richards, Damian Lumn and Kurt Ferguson playing well the Tigers, they overcame the Roo’s by 43.
In the 13s there was a big winning margin, with the home side 13-29-89 over Kiama 4-5-20.
Thomas Green, Kade Drury and Josh Roebuck were standouts for the Tigers.
The Tigers 15s defeated the only side to beat them the Power.
Tigers teams through to the grand final are the 10s, 12s, 13s, with the 15s with the 9s playing again and the 12s needing a win at Dapto.
