FOR the second year running, a Balgownie RooBall junior soccer team has achieved the extraordinary feat of completing a full season undefeated.
Last year competing as a U6 White team, they played 22 games, and this year, moving up to U7 Whites, they contested another 19 games without a black mark against their name.
Better still, in those two years they scored an incredible 260 goals, conceding only 20. By scoring over 150 of these goals, striker Cooper Buswell must be someone really special.
Along with Lucas Pereira, Cooper spent all summer at Glen Fontana's Coerver Academy in Wollongong, which no doubt improved their skills.
During the 2006 season, Balgownie came up against two other undefeated sides in Shellharbour and Helensburgh. Shellharbour created few problems with a 5 0 victory, but Helensburgh pushed Bally all the way before they came out on top 5 3 in a terrific game of soccer.
Coach David Bushwell stated the secret to his team's success was that the boys play their positions well and pass the ball around with aplomb.
The proud manager of this outstanding team is Kirk Barklay.
