Tarra gifted two goals, point

South Coast United and Tarrawanna split four goals and the points in an entertaining game at Ian McLennan Park on Saturday.

Tarrawanna were off to a flying start when they scored within the opening three minutes.

South Coast captain-coach Michael Santalab lost possession on the edge of his own area and team mate Lance Barrie’s attempted clearance only found the net.

Santalab made up for the error midway through the half when he flighted a pass into the path of Denis Jurjevic, who controlled the ball and made no mistake with his finish.

Scores were locked 1-all at halftime before Tarrawanna took the lead again of another own goal by Barrie.

The defender gifted Tarrawanna a goal when he rifled the ball into his own net from a corner kick.

South Coast equalised 15 minutes later when Ricky Bertakis nodded home from a deep cross after neat build-up down the right hand side.

Tarrawanna then lost Ricky Zucco, who was sent off for alleged dissent.

The visitors then nearly pinched the points when Victor Costabile sent in a thunderous free kick which South Coast goalkeeper Jason Bleakley did extremely well to keep out.

Dapto flexed its muscle with a four-nil win over Warilla Wanderers at King Mickey Park.

On Good Friday, Albion Park Eagles scored a thrilling 3-2 win over defending IPL champions Dandaloo at Dandaloo Sports Ground.

The White Eagles grabbed all three points thanks to a stoppage-time own goal by Dandaloo’s Mark Troth after Dandaloo goalkeeper Scott Whalan fumbled a hopeful cross. That capped a frantic final ten minutes of action in which the sides traded successful penalty goals.

Corrimal Leagues Club Knock Out champions Cringila came back to earth with a 1-nil loss to Port Kembla at Weatherall Park.

At Macedonia Park, Wollongong United scored a 3-nil win over Picton Rangers.

At JJ Kelly Park, Coniston Lions scored a 2-1 win over Bulli thanks to goals to Pece Sobevski and Ile Kostovski. Sasho Dimovski pulled one back for Bulli.
