After a dismal time with the bat, University hit back with the ball in the second innings leaving North’s reeling at 4-18 at stumps.
Stealing second spot on the ladder and home ground advantage in this week’s semi final against Helensburgh, Balgownie had a terrific time of it against Port Kembla, as they easily recorded an extremely valuable outright victory.
Completely routing the hapless wooden spooners, Balgownie wrapped up outright victory by six wickets early on day two after easily chasing down the required 64 runs.
Knowing Balgownie were a good chance to take full points against the struggling Port Kembla, Helensburgh launched an audacious bid to keep hold of second spot by gaining an outright victory against Corrimal. In an amazing final day twist, Corrimal seemed to be cruising in their 133 run chase at 3-117 before Helensburgh went on an amazing run taking 4-1 in a three over period.
With nothing to lose Corrimal continued to throw caution to the wind however ran out of time as the finished on 7-125, capping of a very tense final hour.
