THE South Coast School Sports Association regional secondary girls touch team have won the NSW CHS state championships for the third successive year.
Bulli's versatile Nicole Beck was named player of the tournament and was selected along with Stephanie Jackson (Woonona) in the NSW CHS open touch team.
Nicole's sister Rachel and Allana Ferguson (Bulli HS), and Hayley Ryan (Woonona HS) were also members of this star team.
Congratulations to our local age champions at the recent regional primary and secondary school cross country titles at Cambewarra.
Primary Girls 8/9 years Jordan Gregson (Waniora PS), 10 years - Catlin Williams (Woonona East PS), 12 years - Sarah Caril (Fairy Meadow PS).
Primary Boys 10 years Hamish Paine (Austinmer PS), 11 years Harrison Green (Waniora PS), 12 years Sam Chapple (Corrimal East PS).
Secondary Boys 16 years Ryan Gregson (Illawarra Sports HS), 17 years Jake Evans (Bulli HS).
A record 103 teams contested the recent South Coast primary schools knockout rugby league carnival across the region.
The teams hailed from 45 schools, extending from Helensburgh in the north to Ulladulla in the south.
The event featured four age divisions, with two categories for the 10 years and open primary classes.
The "A" category involved schools with more than 200 students and the "B" category featured schools with less than 200 pupils.
St Michaels Thirroul performed exceptionally well to take out the 10 years B division, while Stanwell Park were runners-up in the open B final.
At the NSW PSSA State championships in Junee, the South Coast primary 11 years rugby league team showed grit and determination to take a very creditable third spot, winning five games in good style.
Dane Woods (Stanwell Park PS) and Rory Davis (Woonona East PS) represented the north in this team.
