THE long and controversial history surrounding developments along Sandon Point peninsula took another twist last week with one Bulli resident effectively filing proceedings against the NSW Minister for Planning in the Land and Environment Court.

Long time Sandon Point activist Jill Walker filed a motion with the court against the subdivison of Sandon Point, which has already been given concept approval by NSW Planning Minister Frank Sartor.

Mr Sartor, with recent legislated power over large-scale developments, has given approval for 50 townhouses, 180 detached homes, a four-storey 80-unit apartment building and an aged care facility for 120 residents and 250 independent living units up to three stories high.

Angering many locals, Mrs Walker said she could not sit by and let this development take place.
