RECORDS came under threat at the Wollongong Game Fishing Club tournament on the past weekend.
Thirty-nine boats entered the tournament, which were greeted with excellent conditions and awesome fishing.
A total of 42 fish were tagged and released and 39 fish were captured. Champion boat was Outcast from Botany Bay with 46,453 points.
Champion male angler capture was Andrew Finney from Botany Bay with three sharks totaling 44,013 points which included a pending world record claim of a 192.4kg Blue Shark on 6kg Line.
Champion female angler capture was Genelle Murphy from Wollongong with a 184.4kg Mako Shark on 15kg with 8,482 points.
Champion boat tag and release was Dobbo from Sydney with six sharks totaling12,000 points.
Champion male angler tag and release was Michael Dobson with six sharks totaling 12,000 points.
Champion female angler tag and release was Genelle Murphy with one shark totaling 2,000 points.
Other notable captures included Nicole Salmon-Seivers who caught a 186.4kg Blue Shark on 15kg which is a pending NSW and Australian record.
