THE rail network was thrown into chaos on Monday and thousands of morning commuters inconvenienced when a Sydney bound train became entangled in powerlines at Oatley.
The resulting power outage caused the closing of the line between Sutherland and Hurstville, bus switches, and mass confusion. Hundreds of Illawarra commuters were late for work and HSC students were late for examinations because of the line closure.
CityRail have apologised for the inconvenience.
