To help prepare for their upcoming 150th Anniversary celebrations, Fairy Meadow Demonstration School will today be holding a walk-a-thon between 2pm and 3pm.

All students from Kindergarten through to Year 6 will be involved and will be decked out in their sport’s uniforms.

All the walk-a-thon participants will also have their faces painted black and yellow – in keeping with the school’s signature colours.

Children have been busy collecting sponsors for their 10-lap walk of the school, which was organised by the SRC.

All money raised by the event will go towards the costs involved with the school’s anniversary celebrations, which will culminate in an open day on Friday, December 5 and an open day and dinner on Saturday, December 6 at the Fraternity Club in Fairy Meadow.

Organisers are keen to hear from any past students or staff who may be able to supply stories or memorabilia, with plans to compile a commemorative Year Book.

Anyone who can contribute stories or prizes to assist with fundraising, or anyone wishing to buy tickets to the anniversary dinner is invited to contact Kiss Events on 4285 0333.
