LORD Mayor Alex Darling said the proposal to extend Stockland Corrimal shopping centre? presented exciting benefits to northern suburbs' residents.
However some independent councillors have slammed the proposal raising concerns over flooding, community consultation and the lack of money offered for the land.
Councillors David Martin, Alice Cartan, Carolyn Griffiths and Andrew Anthony asked for a deferral of the decision on Monday night, but were out voted by Labor councillors and independents Anne Wood and Alex Darling.
