Junior Rugby League in the South Coast and Illawarra has received a huge boost thanks to a new sponsorship deal with Illawarra Toyota.

They will replace long-time junior league sponsors TIP TOP and according to Illawarra Toyota owner Peter Tullock, his company was delighted to be getting behind junior league on the coast.

“You could probably say that it is a bit of a natural progression with Toyota already heavily involved with the National Rugby League and Country Rugby League and this sponsorship will give us a chance at putting something back into the grass roots of rugby league,” Mr Tulloch said.

“We also see it as an investment in the local community as we have over 100 people employed in our two dealerships in Wollongong and Albion Park and they have a lot of kids involved in the sport in the two areas,” he said.

Greater Southern Region Area Manager Kevin Felgate said that the sponsorship, which has been arranged through the St George Illawarra Dragons, will have a two-fold benefit.

“It will allow clubs and club members to get benefits through supporting Illawarra Toyota. This was an important part of the deal and one that we are sure will be popular with everyone involved,” Mr Felgate said.

South Coast Rugby League president Neil Redfern was delighted to welcome Illawarra Toyota on board.

“We are excited about the prospect of having a high profile business like Illawarra Toyota involved in local rugby league and their financial support is very much appreciated,” he said.
