Sea Cliff Bridge, local skateboard facility, beach patrols and St James Oval were among the issues discussed at the July meeting of Neighbourhood Committee 2.
SEA CLIFF BRIDGE
The location of much needed toilets at the southern end of Sea Cliff Bridge is still under consideration by Council. The Clifton community will be consulted before work goes ahead. The RTA will re-install the play equipment in Rube Hargrave Park and is considering locating the toilet there.
SKATEBOARD FACILITY
The skateboard facility has been considered by NC2 for several months. We heard a report from Councillor Alice Cartan on her discussions with the Council officer responsible for these facilities and we agreed to organise a local community meeting with interested parties.
SURF PATROLS
While it may be old news, the members of NC2 were very pleased to hear of the successful campaign by Coalcliff and Scarborough Surf Clubs and communities to retain their surf patrols. Congratulations to all those involved in the campaign.
St JAMES OVAL
The drainage and erosion problems at St James Oval have been drawn to Council's attention. Following a visit by Council officers, design requisitions have gone in and funding has been sought in this year's budget.
