Blowing away the cobwebs after the school holidays the Tigers under 13 AFL team took to Hollymount Park fired up on Saturday. Some serious footy was played in near perfect weather conditions.
The under 11s started the proceedings on Saturday with a strong game against the Figtree Kangaroos.
By halftime, the home side won through quality marking and kicking and then went on to finish the job with a 10/7/67 to 1/1/7 score.
The new-look under 12s lined up against Kiama Power with 15 per side. The determined Power took it to the Tigers with aggressive offence, but the hosts held firm and increased their lead at the big break.
Looking rusty following the school holidays the Tigers only started to gel in the last quarter with Joshua Spendlove having a big day by kicking four goals from the pocket. Alex Spark held out the opposition at fullback for a 12/9/81 to 7/6/47 Tigers win.
Under 13s also dominated their game particularly from the centre with Harrison Green and Alex Fitton overpowering their opposition and Will Rickard contributing strongly.
Figtree fought back but went down in the end 4/2/25 to 12/7/79.
Both Tiger 15s teams played at home with the Blacks too good for the visiting Roos and the Yellows having a mixed game against the Power.
This game had good quality passages with some parts marred by undisciplined play and poor disposal into the forward line.
The Power were strong, however the Tigers held on to win.
The 17s came home from Nowra with a win as well by 11 points.
