THIRROUL and the northern Illawarra has lost a valued member of the community with the death of Diane Boyton last week.
The 62-year-old was tragically killed when her motorcycle collided with a truck at Fairy Meadow last Wednesday. The mother of four and grandmother of three had just gained her bike license and completed a riding course when she bought the scooter.
Leaving the dealership, Mrs Boyton traveled less then 5 metres when she collided with the truck.
Mrs Boyton was an active Red Cross volunteer giving countless hours providing hand massages, manicures and a friendly chat to patients at Thirroul's Lawrence Hargrave Hospital. She also was involved in Telecross, phoning elderly people who lived alone to check their welfare.
