DESPITE being around for only nine months, the Cringila-based South Coast Gymnastics Academy (SCGA) is proving to be one of the best in NSW. At the recent national championships, two SCGA competitors won medals. Simon Reid won gold in the level 8 pommel while Thomas Sutherland snared bronze in the level 7 pommel. Meanwhile, Madelyn Bennet and Carna Feldtman represented NSW in the Boarder Challenge against Queensland. SCGA also scored impressive results at the NSW Championships. Bailey Antrobus (gold) Rhoan Edwards (silver), Miakolo Fekiota (gold), Shamus Mason (silver) and Eddy Obeid (bronze) took medals in men’s artistic gymnastics (MAG). SCGA had three representatives in the women’s artistic gymnastics (WAG), with Ashleigh Nikolovski winning gold in her vault event. The NSW Country Championships were a happy hunting ground for SCGA, winning the MAG Club championship and finishing third overall. SCGA bought home over 60 medals, including 28 gold, 17 silver and 15 bronze. Their level 1 squad won the team gold, while Joseph D’souza-Bullman and Tristian Lufe shared third overall in the level 2. The level 3 junior team won their division and an impressive overall trifecta. Brad Burke won the level 3 junior overall title, ahead of Aaron Rodwell and Aiden Chalker. SCGA also won the level 3 senior title with Aiden Lerch and Shamus Mason second and third overall. Eddy Obied won the level 5 junior title after winning all apparatus. SCGA also won the level 7 open teams and second in the WAG level 6. Melissa Wooderson finished third overall in the level 7 senior division. SCGA is located in Miller Street, Coniston.
