THE ILLAWARRA’S best under 13 rugby players will tour the South Island of New Zealand during the July school holidays.
More than 50 family and supporters will accompany them on the ten-day tour.
Three matches are scheduled for the tour, with the Illawarra boys tackling some of New Zealand’s best regional teams.
The 25-player squad was selected after a trial in August, while places have been reserved for more players.
Any player who gains selection in the 2008 under 13s Illawarra representative team at the March trials will also be invited to join the tour.
The Illawarra are the defending under 13s Country Champions and finished third in the 2007 state championships.
The tour cost is kept to a minimum through fundraising and sponsorship, including support from Tory and Wollongong Toyota.
Any players wishing to trial for this team should call representative coordinators Paul or Therese Connor on 0409 591 892 or 0416 048 510.
The team is: Tom Aney, Angus Campbell, Sam Connor, Jamaine Crossley, Trent Dickenson (Shoalhaven), Baden Ashford, Jack Brown, Rory Davis, Iszack Lunney, Lachlan O’Grady, Jake Sergant-Wilson, Corey Tulloch, Toby Winter, Dane Woods (Shamrocks), Mitchell Conley, Corey Grigg, Aden McLeod, Cody Wheatley (Kiama), Justin Faughlin, Ben Tyson, Sebastian Wilson (Tech/Waratahs), Drew Hutchinson, Stuart Mill (Vikings), Tim Lewis (Bowral) and Henry Naylor (Camden).
