The Albion Park Crows hosted the travelling Tigers on the weekend being the second round of the AFL Illawarra season.
New to the AFL this year the Crows have put together a reasonable and talented group.
The Tigers though were far too experienced for the Crows across most divisions that played.
Under 9s started the day along with the Auskickers.
The 10s didn’t get it all their own way playing against Figtree Roos at Figtree despite the efforts of Catherine Stanton, Shimon Canal and Thomas King.
The 11s turned the table around and strongly welcomed the Crows to the league with a Tiger win.
The under 12s game got off to a feisty start, however the centreline combinations and forward pressure soon put paid to the Crows second half resurgence.
Lucy Bergmeier, Caelin Loxton, Toby Bishop and Kuiam Anu were dominant.
The 13s Crows boasted the largest number of girl players for any one Illawarra side when taking to the field.
With developing footy skills and plenty of enthusiasm the game got beyond the Crows, dominated by the experienced Tigers.
The under 15s Yellow team played at Figtree and struggled for a while until Sean Watson, Luke Livermore and Thomas bailey steadied and the Tigers came home by 42 points.
On Saturday night a contingent of Tigers played during the half time break in the Sydney Swans game against the West Coast Eagles at ANZ Stadium in Homebush.
