Neighbourhood Committee Two
Coalcliff to Austinmer
Deputation to local member, Paul McLeay
Neighbourhood committee representatives, Noel Botrell and Ian Badham, met Paul McLeay to discuss two matters - Council's decision to get rid of neighbourhood committees and traffic problems resulting from the opening of Sea Cliff Bridge. Mr McLeay gave them a sympathetic hearing and asked to come to a future meeting.?
We will meet him later in March about lack of sewerage in parts of Coledale and Wombarra.

Traffic on Lawrence Hargrave Drive
Last year NC2 wrote to the RTA seeking reduced speed on parts of the LHD from 60 to 50 kph and the construction of a pedestrian refuge at the Coledale shops. The RTA replied that the speeds would not be changed because LHD is a main road, and that the refuge has not been included in current funding.? NC2 will continue to press for the refuge to be built because of the? increased traffic and risk to pedestrians.

Coledale skateboard facility
The meeting discussed the possibility of a skateboard facility in Coledale for young people in the area. We need to consider many issues? before we raise it with Council ( such as location, noise problems, safety) and have decided to? invite the P&C's at Scarborough PS, Coledale PS and Bulli HS to the next meeting.

Future of Neighbourhood Committees
Convenors of the disbanded neighbourhood committees continue to meet and are determined to have NC's reinstated by Council as a crucial part of community consultation.
