WOLLONG JUNIOR AFL

MURRAY BERGMEIER

DOMINANT is the best way to describe the Tigers' season as the club has set the mark for quality footy.

After round 16, the Tigers finished as minor premiers across all but one grade heading into the semi-finals at Figtree next weekend.

On Saturday, the Tigers played across the Illawarra in conditions varying from sunshine to pouring rain.

Highland Hawks sprung an upset at Hollymount against the Under 10s, matching the Tigers' running game and winning by two points.

In the Under 11s, the Tigers played a quality game to beat the Hawks 77-46.

The Under 12s had a full squad and won easily 90-19.

The 13s won comfortably at Dapto, while the 15s played in rainy conditions at Figtree. By the second quarter the teams were sliding across the ground and scores were difficult to come by.

Alex Bennett was a real crowd pleaser, ignoring his chest infection to have a standout game, Jack Daskey kicked his 50th season goal and James Wilson out rucked his opposite number in the centre.

Ultimately, the Tigers were too fit and physical against the "?Roos and emerged victorious.
