LIZZIE DOYLE

REIGNING Pro Lites Supercross champion Ryan Marmont made a strong comeback to the Lites class at the Gosford Motocross Masters riding a 250 SX-F to victory for Motorex KTM.

“I had a game plan to come out strong in my first two motos to give me points to play with should anything happen in my final race,” Marmont said.

“This worked well for me, after I won both the first two motos and third place in the final moto for the overall win.

“I had some good competition from Matt Moss and team mate Todd Waters, plus my brother Jay, who I had some fun dicing with in the final race.

“Events like this are good to see where I sit against the competition and help me prepare for the National Motocross Championship.”

The KTM 250 SX-F was also in the number one spot for the Junior Lites class with Tye Simmonds continuing his winning streak and recording lap times faster than some competitors in the Pro Lites class above him.

“I had a lot of fun racing in this event, but in my first qualifier I lost the front end in some mud which put me off a little,” Simmonds said.

“When things like this happen to me in the early races I get more determined to go out stronger than ever, which is what I did in the next heat race and then the final.

“I won both of these races, taking the hole shot and leading from start to finish.”

KTM racers will regroup this weekend in Queensland to compete in the Sunshine State Motocross Series. Visit www.ktm.com.au for full racing results.
