Australian Irish soprano Annalisa Kerrigan will bring her special blend of Irish magic to Wollongong on Saturday as part of a national tour.
The performance at IMB Theatre follows the sell-out of her ABC Classics release, Ireland.
Described by TV personality Ray Martin as having the voice of an angel – “so pure, so perfect, that whatever you are doing, you will want to stop and listen” – Kerrigan has performed to standing ovations throughout Australia and internationally.
Ireland is a poetic, funny and highly personal portrait of Ireland. From its haunting opening song to a heart-warming and spectacular finale, it embraces a wide range of songs and styles celebrating the joy of being Irish.
With more than 15 iconic Irish songs, including Danny Boy, Galway Bay, I’ll Take You Home
Again Kathleen, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, The Rocky Road to Dublin, The Last Rose of Summer and Cockles and Mussels, this concert arouses much emotion and nostalgia.
“It’s a funny thing, music. It brings us together, defines us, and makes us feel things we have buried deep within,” Kerrigan said.
Kerrigan’s ability in classical and folk music is legendary in music circles.
Trained in Florence, Italy, her grace and love for her music are a true source of inspiration.
Woonona Resident Lindsay Martin, will be accompanying Annalisa on stage as a special treat for concert goers.
He has been playing the violin for over 40 years.
Lindsay has played at every major folk festival in Australia and New Zealand, toured Hong Kong, England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
