ILLAWARRA PREMIER LEAGUE

DAVID NAYLOR

TARRAWANNA had to settle for a share of the points after an absorbing 1-all draw in Sunday's match of the round against South Coast United at Sir Ian McLennan Park.

Alan Costabile put the visitors ahead midway through the first half with a lofted shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Tarrawanna had to survive a number of scares during the course of the game as the home side threw everything at them.

South Coast finally breached the Tarrawanna defence in the 86th minute when Sasho Dimovski finished from 20 metres after good build-up work from Ante Deur.

Vince Barilla, making his first grade debut for Tarrawanna won the Rebel Sport $100 voucher after being named Man of the Match.

At Ball's Paddock, Bulli head to rely on a stoppage-time own goal to secure a win against Warilla.

The game look destined to finish in a 1-all stalemate before Warilla conceded an unfortunate own goal deep into stoppage time to go down 2-1 to the IPL high-fliers.

Warilla took a surprise early lead when Blake Coates took advantage of some sloppy defending before racing 40 meters and coolly slotting home past Bulli 'keeper Mitchell Cooper. Parity was restored after 20mins when Shane McGirr also scored when one on one with the Wanderers 'keeper Paul Bitz.

McGrirr did rattle the post a couple of times in the second half but it wasn't until the late own goal that Bulli were assured the points.

Meanwhile, Dandaloo overcame a tricky hurdle in their quest for a Illawarra Premier League three-peat with a 2-nil win over Picton.

The IPL leaders scored a goal in each half, with Ilija Prenzoski scoring midway through the first half before Brett Fleming's 70th-minute bomb from 25 yards sealed the three points.

At Kanahooka Lodge, Dapto led Port Kembla 3-1 at the break before holding on for a 3-2 victory.

Ben Bartlett registered a double before Christian Zelvis headed home from close range on the stroke of halftime for the hosts. Port's Robbie Cazzolli pulled a goal back with the score at 2-0.

Ali Salim's double was enough for Wollongong United to score a 2-nil win over Kiama at Kiama.

Picton thrashed Kemblawarra 10-nil at Hume Oval and Warilla defeated Kiama 1-nil in two deferred games on Sunday.

Cringila defeated Coniston 4-3 on Friday night to kickoff the weekend's action.
