Last chance for junior sporting stars

A FINAL reminder that entries for the Northern Leader, WB Sports Supplies Junior Sportsperson for the year 2005 close at 3pm January 31, so you have just a few days to submit your entry in full detail of all sporting achievements for 2005 only.
Nominees must be 18 or under as at December 31, 2005 and reside in suburbs north of Wollongong to Helensburgh.
Last year's winner was Towradgi's Jacob Timpano (soccer), Corrimal's Josh Wall (cycling) was runner-up and Balgownie's Renae Camino (basketball) came third.
The five highly qualified judges are Mark Brogan, Illawarra Institute of Sport, Petrina Price, Olympic athlete, Ashley Cheney, world beach sprint champion, Barry Salisbury, former international soccer player, and Bob Howes, senior world tennis champion.
There will be trophies for the first three placings and an additional prize for 4th and 5th after the judges vote on a 5-4-3-2-1- basis.
The presentation will be held at the Thirroul Bowling, Leagues and Recreation Club on Wednesday February 15 from 6pm to 7.30pm. All nominees and their families are most welcome to attend in what should be a most exciting evening.
