Upsets were the order of the day as Cringila Lions knocked over Illawarra Premier League champions Dandaloo 1-nil in round three of the Corrimal Leagues Club Knock Out.
Blake Coates’ goal was enough for Cringila in the Tarrawanna Oval clash, while Cord Tolson was named man of the match.
Earlier, Woonona thumped fellow District League outfit Bellambi 8-1, with Cameron O’Neill, John Chapman and Steve McGoldrick bagging a brace each.
Highlands United defeated Helensburgh Thistle 2-1 to complete the action at Tarrawanna.
At Balls Paddock, Shellharbour snuck past Kemblawarra 2-1, Picton Rangers thumped Kiama 7-nil while Bulli defeated Wollongong United 2-1 in an all-IPL clash.
Derek Davies and Saso Dimovski scored for Bulli, while Ben Smith was named man of the match.
At Memorial Park, 2007 First Division grand final winners University defeated Corrimal Rangers 2-nil thanks to goals from Russell Crighton and Dean Grant.
South Coast United thumped fellow IPL club Warilla Wanderers 5-nil thanks to a Denis Jurjevic hat-trick.
Man of the match Angelo Hojitoffi scored a double as 2007 IPL grand final winners Albion Park White Eagles defeated Coniston Lions3-nil.
On Saturday, newly-promoted Fernhill scored an impressive 3-1 win over perennial IPL heavyweights Port Kembla.
Matt Timpano scored a brace for the Foxes, Dean Kerr added another while Ben Gatwood scored Port’s only goal.
Wests Illawarra held Wollongong Olympic to a 1-all draw and Balgownie Rangers thumped Ruse 4-nil.
At Berkeley Sportsground, Dapto and Tarrawanna draw 2-all while Berkeley defeated Thirroul 3-1.
The first quarter final clash this Wednesday night will see South Coast United play Fernhill before Highlands United clash with the IPL heavyweights Picton Rangers in a big early season clash.
Thursday night sees Tarrawanna play the Cringila Lions before Bulli takes on the Albion Park White Eagles.The two semi finals will be played next Sunday at Bellambi.
