Illawarra to host State Hockey Titles

Illawarra Men's Hockey will host the 2007 NSW Under 17 Boys Hockey Championships at Illawarra Credit Union Fields, Waples Road, Unanderra from Friday, May 4 to Sunday, 6 May.

Twenty-four teams will play on the two international turf surfaces at the ICU Hockey Centre over the three days of the Championships.

2007 is the first time all championship matches will be on turf fields.

Illawarra lost the 2006 final to arch rival Sydney after winning the previous 5 State A Division titles.

The hosts will again be strongly favoured to do well.

The Illawarra A Team is: Mark Rodgers GK, Jesse Windle GK, Cameron Springett, Bede Gillard, Jake Jones, Jordan Loveridge, Nathan Nikolich, Nardie Commerford, Josh Anderson, Tristan White, Jeremy Huk, Heath Ogilvie, Josh Day, Josh Walters, Oliver Walker.

The side will be coached by Peter Huk and managed by Debbie Rodgers.
