THE Thirroul Festival was a "fantastic success", according to Alexie Bull from the festival's organising committee.
It is estimated that more than 15,000 people rolled through Thirroul over the weekend, with many people coming on Saturday and Sunday.
"I think people liked the difference between the two days, so that came on Saturday to enjoy what's going on in the streets and then Sunday they come along " they tend to stay for the whole day on Sunday " and we have a very diverse entertainment program," she said.
"People walk down to the beach and check out all the art along the beach and they can grab a camel ride, grab a something to eat and watch show.
"We get plenty of really great feed back. There's a couple from the Blue Mountains who come down just for the festival. We were in the Sydney press and we got a lot of Sydney people coming down for the day.
"You're always at the mercy of the weather, but the conditions were just gorgeous."
Planning for next year's festival is already on the way, with the date tentatively set for the April 5 and 6, 2008.
