Geordie Crawford is making a name for himself as a batsman with Northern Districts Cricket Club.

TWO local junior cricketers came up trumps at the South Coast Junior Cricket Association's presentation night for season 2005/06.

Geordie Crawford (13) and Ryan Hunter (14) won the batting and bowling averages respectively in the prestigious U14 A competition.

Geordie averaged an outstanding 59.5 as an opening right hand batsman with the Thirroul/Northern Districts Club and Ryan took 20 wickets at the splendid average of 8.00 competing for the Corrimal Cougars Club.

Geordie and Thirroul teammates Jack Daskey and Jackson Stewart also represented the South Coast PSSA side that contested the state championships at Barooga. Geordie's favourite player was Steve Waugh, while Ryan looks up to Brett Lee.

Both are exceptional allround sportsmen.

Geordie is a Year 7 student at Bulli High School. He plays AFL with the Northern Districts Tigers U13 team, competes in crosscountry running, swims with the Corrimal Swim Club and takes part in most school sports. He also takes music lessons and is a competent award winning speaker.

Ryan attends Illawarra Sports High where he is in Year 8. Besides cricket, he plays for the Wollongong Wolves U14 soccer team, has represented the South Coast in athletics, crosscountry, softball and touch and enjoys surfing.
