ALMOST 1000 people took advantage of an invitation to inspect the interior of the rapidly developing Anita's Theatre at Thirroul last Friday.
The bill for the theatre restoration is expected to total over $20 million, with more than 400 construction workers taking part in the painstaking project.
Developer John Comelli provided musical entertainment and food and drinks for the crowds who got to see first hand what the theatre would have on offer by the scheduled completion by Christmas.
The performing arts space will feature 1000sqm of jarrah timber floors, ornate ceilings and seating.
Once completed, Mr Comelli said the venue would host a variety of entertainment including films, theatre, opera, concerts and even school plays.
Performers on the night included the Thirroul Dance Academy, Greek dancing ensemble, opera singer Karen Cummings and Belmore Basin Jazz Band.
