Corey Bagnal performed well at the ACT Titles, an excellent warm up for the Australia Titles in May.

COLEDALE'S 12yearold Corey Bagnall continues to do well in the sport of bike riding.

This year he has raced at Liverpool for 10 meetings where he came first in the 20 inch and second in the 13 - 14 cruiser division.

At the first regional for the year held at the Blue Mountains track, Corey came seventh in the 13 14 cruiser, which was a strong field, and second in the 13 year boys.

Recently Corey raced in the ACT titles, an excellent warm up for the Australian titles in May. The ACT meeting attracted 630 riders with pro riders from New Zealand and America. In Corey's age group there were riders from all over Australia. In the four heats Corey finished third in three and first in the other.

His best race of the day was in the semi final where he came out of the gate in first place in front of two Australians and ended up coming second in front of three NSW riders for the first time.

Corey finished fifth overall in the 13 year boys which was a top achievement considering the rankings of the riders and the fact that only three NSW riders were successful in reaching the semi final stage.

He is now in training for the Australian titles in May, which will be held in Adelaide at an indoor track.

These performances were by far superior from any other Illawarra athletes in the history of the Commonwealth Games - so it's no wonder we all feel so proud.
