" Organisers of the Helensburgh Country Fair Margaret McGuir and Libby Cross from the Helensburgh Lions Club.
OVER $4,000 was raised from the Helensburgh Country Fair last year and put back into the community.
The fair has been a much anticipated event on Helensburgh's social calendar since it began in 1991.
"It has become an important part of community life in Helensburgh," organiser Margaret McGuir said.
Run by the Helensburgh Lions, this Saturday's fair is promising to be one the biggest yet, she said.
Beginning this Friday with an evening of art and culture, Margaret said this weekend will be jam packed with something for everyone.
Besides Saturday's day of festivities, the Helensburgh Beer and Wine Fair will be held on Sunday.
About 8 dedicated Helensburgh Lions volunteers have been busy organising the huge market featuring an array of art and crafts, homewares and gifts, toys and trinkets, cosmetics and crystals, clothes and accessories in Charles Harper Park.
In the morning, the centre stage will play host to home grown attractions, including Symbio's reptile show, belly dancers, and baton twirlers, with a special feature being the Preston's Historic Punch and Judy Show. In the afternoon local bands, including the popular Spindrift will perform.
To round off the weekend of entertainment, the Helensburgh Beer and Wine Fair will be held on Sunday October 29 at the Helenburgh Soccer Clubhouse presented by Centennial Heritage Cellars.
