TWO state-of-the-art lifts installed at Bulli Station were officially opened this week by Minister for the Illawarra David Campbell and Heathcote MP Paul Mcleay.
The State Government's Easy Access Program is behind the upgrade which, along with the lifts, had the station repainted, rewired and fitted out with better lighting, CCTV and a new toilet.
The new lifts are intended to make access and security better.
The Easy Access program has also been behind the upgrade to Thirroul Station two years ago and the upgrades at North Wollongong and Helensburgh stations, which are expected to be completed in the next few months.
Local community members, Railcorp spokespeople and media attended the opening along with the politicians and their entourages.
Mr Campbell has encouraged residents to take advantage of the facilities, which he called an "accessible transport hub."
Two lifts have been installed, one on each side of the tracks, connecting the platform to the road, which travels over the top of the station.
