Build the road

I wish to add my view that Thirroul should have an additional exit for practical reasons.

The shortage of transport infrastructure servicing the Illawarra does incorporate access to Thirroul, however the real issues are far broader. The escarpment creates a substantial barrier to any form of transport and as such as high costs attached. Thirroul currently has three approaches, one from north, another from the south and the third from the West in the form of Bulli Pass. Indeed thirroul is the only northern Illawarra suburb with more than two approaches. This is not to say the conditions of these roads are not worthy of attention. The status of Bulli Pass is horrific. The road surface is detatching in many areas, there are few passing opportunities and narrow laneways almost impassable when trafficked by prime movers. Rather than an alternate access to Thirroul, an investment in the maintenance of Bulli Pass and other existing assets would be more beneficial. Additionally, the connections between the illawarra and the West (Picton Road and Appin Road) and the north (such as the F6 Freeway which remains incomplete between Waterfall and Mascot) should be priority focuses for the State Government.

With respect Peter, If I was living in Thirroul, I'd be much more concerned with immediate local access points. e.g. At the Bottom of Bulli Pass, just to the North of Bulli Pass, along L.H.Drive. (railway bridge near Station St in poor condition). BTW - Thirroul isn't alone, for at Bulli there's only one road access at Princess Hwy Nth of Point st. All I'll say is ,have a plan ready in case of emergency. Be Prepared !
