The Rotary Clubs of the Illawarra are promoting an initiative aimed at raising awareness of bowel cancer.

Rotary members Ruth Milne and Don Rose have spent the past two weeks at Stockland Corrimal selling test kits and answering people’s questions.

Kits cost $5 and are available from all pharmacies between Helensburgh and Gerringong from March 6 to April 16.

Mrs Milne said they had sold a lot of kits – many customers were second and third time buyers.

Bowel cancer is the most common internal cancer, with 11,000 cases diagnosed annually. For further information, contact Alf Harley on 4284 2803.
