" Zel and John back with the Corrimal club after winning the NSW champion of champions pairs title.
IN the biggest success of their lawn bowling careers, Corrimal's John Green, 43, and Zel Diamant, 26, (Cordeaux Heights) have taken out the 2006 NSW Champion of Champion pairs title from a massive field of club champions from all over the state.
Played at the Entrance club, John and Zel, representing the Taren Point club in Sydney, defeated Peter Hattam and Don McPhee (Bodalla) 19 - 15 in the final to strengthen their chances and ambitions of playing for the NSW senior side.
John and Zel have played for the NSW reserve side and Zel for the NSW U25 team, and both have spent the last five years with the Taren Point club in Sydney.
However both have decided now's the right time to return to the Corrimal club where John has taken on the position of bowls co-ordinator. They will provide a tremendous much-needed shot in the arm for the club and John, along with Zel, have high hopes of helping Corrimal regain its former status as one of Illawarra's leading bowling clubs.
