FOLLOWING his recent success at the National Mountain Bike Marathon Championships, Woonona's Craig Gordon has gone one massive step further by winning the 24 hour World Solo Championship in
the USA.
In a stellar performance at the race involving 30, 13 km laps, the 34yearold technician raced clear of the field at the mid point and never looked like being beaten by favourite and sixtime champion, Chris Eatough from the host country.
"Yes, I'm wrapped," Gordon said.
"I've had so many wins over the years but this is a world championship after all," he said.
However the race took a lot out of the new world champion spending three days in hospital on a dialysis machine before his full recovery.
